The National Museum of the Mighty Eighth Air Force in Chatham County, Georgia, will host a special screening of 10 Good Men, a new documentary chronicling the experiences of 10 of the last surviving WWII veterans who flew the Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress, on Saturday, July 25. Presented by filmmaker and YouTube historian Trent “TJ” Jones, the 90-minute documentary tells the stories of a group of veterans whose combined service represents a complete B-17 crew. The film features firsthand accounts of combat missions over Europe alongside restored and colorized archival footage and narration by Emmy Award-winning broadcaster Dan Nachtrab.
10 Good Men is the first feature-length documentary produced by TJ3 Productions, the company behind Jones’ TJ3 History YouTube channel, which focuses on WWII aviation history. The project was developed over three years and aims to preserve the stories of a generation whose firsthand accounts are becoming increasingly rare. “These men represent the final voices of a generation that is quickly leaving us,” Jones said. “Our goal with “10 Good Men” was to honor their service with the highest production quality possible, so that their experiences can be preserved and shared for generations to come.” Following the screening, Jones will participate in a question-and-answer session discussing the making of the documentary and the process of recording the veterans’ stories.
The screening begins at 10 a.m. at the National Museum of the Mighty Eighth Air Force. Tickets are available online HERE and will also be available at the door on the morning of the event.
