This SATURDAY, MARCH 8, 2014 Bagpipes, special programs, flight exhibitions and AT-6 Texan (Harvard) Rides for Sale all day long highlight the Palm Springs Air Museum’s Annual Tribute to the Canadian Armed Forces. Programs and flight exhibitions are included with museum admission. There is a separate charge for those wanting to Ride on the AT-6 Texan (Harvard). Program sponsors are the HN & Frances C. Berger Foundation and the Houston Family Foundation.
Schedule of Activities:
· 10 AM – AT-6 Texan (Harvard) Rides for Sale – all day
· 11AM- Program: Judith Grierson of the Commonwealth Air Training Plan Museum in Canada speaks about the Air Training programs in Canada during WWII as well as the importance of preserving this history at museums such as ours and theirs.
· 1 PM – National Anthems of the US and Canada, sung by Joey English
· 1:05 PM – Program: Lt. Col. (Ret’d) Dan Dempsey CD – With a 23 year career with the Canadian Forces, and as a former team leader of both the Canadian Forces Snowbirds and Vintage Wings of Canada’s Hawk One F-86 Sabre demo team, Dan will trace the extensive history of Canada’s Airshow teams as documented in his highly acclaimed book, “A Tradition of Excellence”.
The Palm Springs Air Museum houses one of the largest collections of World War II aircraft in flyable condition. The museum is located at 745 N. Gene Autry Trail in Palm Springs, a five-minute drive east of the Palm Springs International Airport. Individual admissions range from $8-$15. Children 5 and under and active military and / or the immediate family with ID are free. Discounts are not valid on Saturdays.

Born in Milan, Italy, Moreno moved to the U.S. in 1999 to pursue a career as a commercial pilot. His aviation passion began early, inspired by his uncle, an F-104 Starfighter Crew Chief, and his father, a military traffic controller. Childhood adventures included camping outside military bases and watching planes at Aeroporto Linate. In 1999, he relocated to Atlanta, Georgia, to obtain his commercial pilot license, a move that became permanent. With 24 years in the U.S., he now flies full-time for a Part 91 business aviation company in Atlanta. He is actively involved with the Commemorative Air Force, the D-Day Squadron, and other aviation organizations. He enjoys life with his supportive wife and three wonderful children.
