Shuttleworth and Aero Legends Announce New Partnership, Vintage Flight Experiences to Begin in May

Shuttleworth and Aero Legends have joined forces to bring thrilling vintage flight experiences to Shuttleworth Aerodrome starting in May. Aviation enthusiasts will have the chance to fly in a two-seater Spitfire or T6 Harvard, experiencing aerobatic manoeuvres in unrestricted airspace.

Shuttleworth and Aero Legends are thrilled to announce a new partnership that will bring Aero Legends’ renowned vintage flight experiences to Shuttleworth Aerodrome (Old Warden) starting in May. Aero Legends is a leading provider of premium historic flying experiences, offering aviation enthusiasts the opportunity to fly in meticulously restored wartime aircraft alongside some of the world’s most experienced pilots. Their expanding fleet of heritage aircraft, the most diverse in the UK, includes the legendary Spitfire, providing an unparalleled opportunity for aviation lovers to experience the thrill of flight in iconic military aircraft.

Shuttleworth, home to a fully operational historic airfield, houses an internationally acclaimed collection of aircraft spanning 1909-1950, alongside veteran vehicles, buses, and heritage exhibits. The site also features a stunning nine-acre Regency Garden, Shuttleworth House, a Victorian mansion, and a popular café open to visitors year-round.

With this exciting new collaboration, members of the public will now have the opportunity to take flight in a two-seater Spitfire or a T6 Harvard from Shuttleworth Aerodrome in Biggleswade, Bedfordshire. Each flight experience begins with a comprehensive pre-flight briefing before guests take to the skies for a breathtaking ride featuring exhilarating aerobatic maneuvers in unrestricted airspace. There is no limit on guest numbers for spectators, who can enjoy watching the flights while taking advantage of Shuttleworth’s on-site attractions. Flight participants will also receive a souvenir pack, including a flight certificate and aircraft patch, to commemorate their experience.

Born in Milan, Italy, Moreno moved to the U.S. in 1999 to pursue a career as a commercial pilot. His aviation passion began early, inspired by his uncle, an F-104 Starfighter Crew Chief, and his father, a military traffic controller. Childhood adventures included camping outside military bases and watching planes at Aeroporto Linate. In 1999, he relocated to Atlanta, Georgia, to obtain his commercial pilot license, a move that became permanent. With 24 years in the U.S., he now flies full-time for a Part 91 business aviation company in Atlanta. He is actively involved with the Commemorative Air Force, the D-Day Squadron, and other aviation organizations. He enjoys life with his supportive wife and three wonderful children.
