The Warbirds of Glory Museum has announced the addition of a significant new aircraft to its collection with the donation of a 1943 Boeing N2S-4 Stearman biplane. Best known for its role as a primary trainer during WWII, the Stearman helped prepare thousands of military pilots for service in the skies over Europe and the Pacific. Rugged, reliable, and instantly recognizable, the type became one of the most important training aircraft of WWII and, after the war, became the backbone of the agricultural aviation business.

Museum Director Patrick Mihalek expressed his gratitude to the donor for entrusting the aircraft to the organization, where it will support the museum’s ongoing preservation and educational mission. Visitors will have their first opportunity to see the newly acquired Stearman in person during the museum’s Open House on June 27. The event will showcase the progress made on the museum’s restoration projects throughout 2025 and give guests the chance to meet the students and volunteers who help bring these historic aircraft back to life.

The Open House will be followed by the Warbirds of Glory Museum’s Gala Dinner and Fundraiser at the American Spirit Center VFW Hall in Brighton. The evening will feature a catered dinner, museum updates, special announcements regarding the future of the organization and its student apprenticeship program, and a keynote presentation, From Hiroshima to Modern Deterrence, by Brigadier General Paul Tibbets IV. Ticket sales for the Gala Dinner close on Sunday, and seating remains limited. Supporters interested in attending are encouraged to secure their tickets soon.
