Vulcan to the Sky Trust Adds June Date for XH558 Engine Ground Run Experience

The Vulcan to the Sky Trust has expanded its 2026 XH558 Engine Ground Run Experience schedule with a new June date. Visitors will be able to experience live Olympus engine runs, aircraft system demonstrations, and close-up access to the iconic Vulcan bomber.

The Vulcan to the Sky Trust, Doncaster, UK, has added June 21 to its 2026 schedule for the Vulcan XH558 Engine Ground Run Experience. The new date follows the previously announced sessions on May 23 and 24, which were the first engine run dates released for this year at Doncaster. The standard experience is priced at £95 per person and includes a demonstration of the aircraft’s flight control surfaces, bomb-bay doors, and airbrakes before the engines are started. The Trust is also continuing its VIP version of the event, priced at £150 per person. These smaller-group sessions include drinks and lunch on arrival, guided access to XH558 and English Electric Canberra WK163, cockpit access, and additional engine power demonstrations. During both experiences, the aircraft’s Olympus engines are started individually before selected engines are brought up to higher power settings, producing the well-known Vulcan howl. Note that attendees must be at least 16 years old to take part. Those aged 16 or 17 are required to attend with a paying adult. The Trust also noted that all visitors must bring valid photo identification, either a passport or a photographic driver’s license, as airport security requirements apply to all participants.
