CAF WWII-Era B-17 and B-25 Bombers Join Fighters and Trainers at PDK Airport in Atlanta

The Flying Legends of Victory Tour returns to DeKalb-Peachtree Airport with the iconic B-17 Sentimental Journey, B-25 Maid in the Shade and five vintage CAF Airbase Georgia aircraft, offering visitors a rare opportunity to tour and fly aboard historic WWII-era warbirds.

The Flying Legends of Victory Tour, featuring the legendary B-17 Flying Fortress Sentimental Journey and B-25 Mitchell Maid in the Shade, returns to DeKalb-Peachtree Airport (PDK), Atlanta, this week for tours and rides. The aircraft, operated by Commemorative Air Force (CAF) Airbase Arizona, will be joined by five vintage military aircraft from CAF Airbase Georgia for a unique living-history aviation experience.

Flying Legends of Victory is the 2026 national tour for two of the most iconic aircraft of World War II. Tours of both bombers begin Tuesday, May 12, with flight experiences available May 14–17 at PDK Airport. CAF Airbase Georgia will add five historic aircraft to the event May 16–17, offering rides in a P-51 Mustang, SBD-5 Dauntless dive bomber, LT-6 Mosquito, PT-19A Fairchild and T-34 Mentor. Born in Milan, Italy, Moreno moved to the U.S. in 1999 to pursue a career as a commercial pilot. His aviation passion began early, inspired by his uncle, an F-104 Starfighter Crew Chief, and his father, a military traffic controller. Childhood adventures included camping outside military bases and watching planes at Aeroporto Linate. In 1999, he relocated to Atlanta, Georgia, to obtain his commercial pilot license, a move that became permanent. With 24 years in the U.S., he now flies full-time for a Part 91 business aviation company in Atlanta. He is actively involved with the Commemorative Air Force, the D-Day Squadron, and other aviation organizations. He enjoys life with his supportive wife and three wonderful children.
