Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome, Red Hook, NY, is making a selection of parts from its Avro 504K available to supporters, giving collectors a chance to take home something that once flew in its weekend air shows. The aircraft was a familiar sight over the field for years and became one of the standouts in the flying collection. The pieces are not First World War originals, but they do come directly from the Aerodrome’s own operational 504K. They’ve been kept just as they were during its time in service, showing the wear and character of an airplane that actually flew, not one that simply sat behind a rope line.
While the Avro 504K no longer flies, it is still very much part of the Aerodrome’s history. Several fabric sections are being sold at set prices, along with a small number of Fokker triplane ribs. You can click HERE to purchase the items of your liking. In addition, a few one-of-a-kind pieces have been placed up for bidding, and those auction listings are scheduled to close on February 28. You can click HERE to head to the auction link and bid for your favorite item(s). All proceeds from the sales and auction go straight back to the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome, helping fund its restoration work, educational programs, and day-to-day operations.
