Aircorps Art Dec 2019

The Commemorative Air Force’s Airbase Arizona Flying Museum in Mesa, Arizona is offering two spectacular scenic night flights on May 7 and 21 at 7:30 p.m., each of which will offer unique and inspiring views of the Valley of the Sun at night, including cityscapes and the Sonoran Desert. The flight will take place in a historic, combat-veteran Douglas C-47A Skytrain (42-23518) which once took part in a paratrooper assault on the island of Sicily during World War II, not to mention numerous other missions, some of which involved dropping supplies to clandestine agents and resistance fighters in the Balkans.

The aircraft, nicknamed Old Number 30, has been meticulously maintained and updated in flying condition and features an executive interior offering comfortable viewing of the valley from the air. Seats are US$195 each and may be purchased online via this link Flight Info and Schedule | WWII Airplane Rides | AZCAF. The flights are available to passengers from all ages five and up, although any child under 12 years old must be accompanied by their parent or guardian.

After passenger processing and flight briefing takes place, the Skytrain, in its desert camouflaged livery, will launch from historic Falcon Field in Mesa, Arizona,. Passengers should plan on spending one to two hours at CAF Airbase Arizona, including the flight. There is ample free parking.
