The Roulettes performed their first public show at RAAF Base Point Cook in 1970. They initially flew a Macchi MB-326, which was replaced in 1989 by the Pilatus PC-9/A, the Air Force’s new pilot training aircraft. The Roulettes are now a team of six aircraft and seven members, completing two display seasons each year, lasting six months.

The Pilatus PC-9/A retired in March 2019 and was replaced by the Pilatus PC-21. The Pilatus PC-9 was a single-engine, low-wing, two-seat training aircraft. It was powered by a Pratt & Whitney PT6A-62 turboprop engine, producing 950 shaft horsepower. It was built by Pilatus in Switzerland. In July 1986, the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) ordered 67 of these two-seat trainers. The first production PC-9 for the RAAF flew on May 19, 1987. The aircraft was 33.5 feet long, 10.8 feet high, with a wingspan of 33.5 feet. Its weight was approximately 7,076 pounds, the maximum speed was 320 knots, the ceiling was 37,990 feet, and the range was 1,150 miles with two underwing tanks. The Pilatus PC-9/A on sale has been reassembled and inspected. The aircraft will be sold with a Certificate of Airworthiness in the Limited Category under Australian Warbirds (AWAL) and offers a unique opportunity to own a former Roulettes aerobatic team aircraft.
