The Museum of Flight, in Seattle, WA, will host a talk on January 31 featuring rocket scientist and space exploration consultant Dr. Roger Myers, who will examine the effort to establish a long-term human presence on the Moon (Event details HERE). The discussion will also look at how space-based nuclear power systems could support future missions deeper into the solar system. Seattle-based Dr. Roger Myers has spent more than three decades working on space transportation, propulsion, and power systems. His career includes time at NASA’s Glenn Research Center as well as senior roles at Aerojet Rocketdyne. Over the years, he has worked on a wide range of commercial, civil, and defense space missions, including projects involving chemical, electric, and nuclear propulsion. Myers has authored more than 100 publications, including the influential report Weighing the Future: Strategic Options for U.S. Space Nuclear Leadership, which helped shape NASA’s current nuclear space efforts. He has served on multiple National Academy of Sciences committees, currently chairs the NASA Space Technology Industry Government University Roundtable, was elected to the National Academy of Engineering in 2022, and serves as a Trustee of The Museum of Flight.
