Visitors to EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2026 will once again find one of the event’s biggest attractions at the heart of the convention grounds, as Boeing Plaza hosts a rotating display of military, commercial, historic, and experimental aircraft throughout the week of July 20–26. Often referred to as the “Crossroads of Aviation,” Boeing Plaza serves as the centerpiece of the Experimental Aircraft Association’s annual fly-in convention, with aircraft arriving and departing throughout the event. The ever-changing lineup offers visitors the opportunity to see a diverse collection of significant aircraft, many of which will be making limited appearances. This year’s display will feature a mix of modern military aircraft, historic warbirds, commercial airliners, and the latest developments in aviation technology. Several featured aircraft will also support AirVenture’s commemoration of America’s 250th anniversary.

“There is no place else in the world where one can see a combination of noteworthy aircraft and people as you can on Boeing Plaza during EAA AirVenture,” said Rick Larsen, EAA’s vice president of communities and member programs. “Nearly every notable type of airplane of the past 35 years has appeared in that area at some point. What’s also noteworthy is that the coordination of those aircraft is completely organized by a group of AirVenture’s dedicated volunteers, who have probably pulled and tugged more aircraft types than any ramp crew in the world.”

Among the aircraft currently scheduled to appear on Boeing Plaza are U.S. Air Force heavy transports and bombers, including the B-52 Stratofortress, C-5M Super Galaxy, and C-17 Globemaster III, along with frontline fighters such as the F-15 Eagle, F-16 Fighting Falcon, and F-35 Lightning II. Commercial aviation will also be represented with specially painted aircraft from Southwest Airlines and Delta Air Lines. Because many aircraft are scheduled for limited appearances, the lineup will continue to evolve throughout the week. EAA notes that the display schedule is subject to change without notice based on operational requirements. Aircraft scheduled on Boeing Plaza click HERE.

Originally developed in the late 1980s as a taxiway with four aircraft parking areas, Boeing Plaza expanded into its current configuration in 1993 and has since become one of AirVenture’s signature attractions. All aircraft displayed on Boeing Plaza are included with regular AirVenture admission. EAA AirVenture Oshkosh is “The World’s Greatest Aviation Celebration” and EAA’s membership convention. His passion for aviation began at a young age, inspired by his father, who flew the English Electric Lightning. A long career in mainstream news, politics, and journalism kept him largely away from his early interest in aviation history. As he approaches retirement, Kevin is increasingly returning to that passion and becoming more involved with Vintage Aviation News.
